Potassium iodide is an inorganic compound with chemical formula KI. It is colorless or white crystal, odorless and has a strong bitter taste. It is colorless or white crystalline powder, with density of 3.13g/cm3, melting point of 618 ℃, boiling point of 1345 ℃, and is easily soluble in water and ethanol. The water solution darkens when it sees the light and dissociates iodine. Potassium iodide shall be stored in a cool, dry and ventilated warehouse, and shall not be stacked in the open air or in the cargo shed. Avoid direct sunlight and moisture to prevent deterioration of goods.
