Reagent silver nitrate
Silver nitrate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula of AgNO3. It is a white crystalline powder, easily soluble in water, ammonia, glycerin, and slightly soluble in ethanol. Pure silver nitrate is stable to light, but its aqueous solution and solid are often stored in brown reagent bottles due to the insufficient purity of general products. It is used for photographic emulsion, silver plating, mirror making, printing, medicine, hair dyeing, inspection of chloride ion, bromine ion and iodine ion, and also for electronic industry.
